i have an 01 dodge ram 1500 5.9, it was diagnosed by a mechanic that one of the lifters was making noise, i took my intake manifold off to see the lifter, took the lifter out and the piece in hte middle if pressed all the way down and there is no spring action from the inside, if i try to push down on it it doesnt move, is that normal? but the new lifter has spring play when i push down it goes down and then comes back up, and then i took off the next set of lifters and they are the same way kind of stuck down, does that mean they are all bad or just worked in and not as good as the new one?
