Default high flow cat

I called the exhaust shop today and they wont install a universal cat on my truck. They said it wont work because my cat is a 2 in 1 out. I dont wont to pay 200 bucks for a direct fit cat. Is the direct fit my only option? Thanks for any help

I decided to have no cat at all and see how I like it. Where can I buy a test pipe to weld in its place? Thanks
