re-check the linkage, that would cause the problem

Every once in a while I'll whip on the wipers (in the saturn) or forget about the clutch in the Ram thinking for some reason I'm driving the wif's mini-van, (brain injury maybe??) but most Auto's I've driven only require the break to get out of park, not into. It just happens that most people are stopping before going into park so it's natural to have the break depressed.
