Default PCM + Hypertech program = error

I set my program back to stock a while ago to get through the smog check. This weekend I got around to resetting it and when I was done I got a check engine light. The code was P0601 which is the PCM rom error. I tried clearing the code with programmer but it comes right back. If I disconnect the battery for few minutes it resets and the check engine light stays off. As soon as I use the programmer for anything the code comes back. Any ideas? Thanks

P0601 pretty much means the pcm is bad. It is rare that you might have a bit of luck with a reflash, but to be honest I had the same code presented almost a year ago now, ended up trying two pcms on ebay (both of which did not work from autocomputerexchange). I then hit a local autoparts store and they hooked me up with a rebuilt from cardone. Mind you I had a bit of trouble here as well. The first computer they gave me worked fine for a month, and then the code came back up again, I returned it for another which wouldn't even start my truck, after the third computer from the store, I finally got one that worked. Been smooth sailing ever since
