I have my plenum plate nearly made just some triming up to do. Should I use longer bolts for holding on the plenum plate? The truck normally starts straight away hot or cold. Some times it can act up abit starting but it can do this hot or cold. I think the best thing to do is to get a new fuel pump.

Yes, acting up hot or cold is a good indication that the pump is well on it's way. When they first start crapping out, it usually happens during the winter season. But, since you've got issue hot or cold, the pump is on it's way out.

You got it.

probably not. those belly pan bolts are really small, and only torque to about ??? 6-8-10 foot pounds. with medium strength thread locker on them, you only need a minimum of about 3/8" of thread in the hole. that would be something like 5 or 6 rounds of threads. the bolts are what? about 3/4-1 inch long?

just test fit them and pay attention - you don't want them too short or too long.

did you make a plate ?

I have a new fuel pump ordered and hope to have it in the next 7 -10 days ( hope this sorts out my fuel pressure problem). Ya I have my plenum plate made, I plan to take a few pictures of it (if I don't forget first) before I fit it. I have got slighty longer bolts about 1/4 inch and will measure them to make sure they are not too long.At the moment I have engine degreaser rubbed into the plenum and left over night to soak in and I will clean it up tomorrow with the steam cleaner. Thanks for the all the help, only for you guys I would be doing a lot of looking and wondering whats wrong and where would I start.
