Default Need info on my truck

Hey everybody, new guy here. I've been lurking around for a few weeks learning a little about these trucks. I recently acquired this 97 Sport edition from my parents, and before that it used to belong to my cousin. Around 280k miles on it, small crack on the dash but not too noticeable, and a little bit of the clear coat is peeling. I was wondering if you guys can tell me a little bit about the basic details of what's in it? Such as whether it's a 5.2 or 5.9 or any other useful info you think I might need. All I really know is that it's an automatic RWD lol. Here's some pics:

I remember seeing somebody else with a lot of rust right here, mine doesn't have it so I'm guessing that's a good sign.

All that i can tell from the pictures is that it is not a 4x4, and that your truck has little rust because you live in California. If you pop your hood there should be a sticker by the radiator that tells what engine and ect. is in it, there is not much more anyone can tell you.

One suggestion is to email Dodge and request a build sheet, which will tell you exactly what your truck has/doesn't have.

welcome. nice truck.

if the engine's never been changed, look in the middle of the VIN number. Y=5.2 and Z=5.9

Thanks guys. The engine has never been changed, so I'll check that out tomorrow. Anybody know if those wheels are stock or not?

Like others have said, look under your hood on the sticker, or simply send Dodge a request for a build sheet - they'll tell you everything the truck came with from the factory.
