Default Replacing hub/wheelbarring assembly on my wifes mountianeer

Just curious, i know it's not a dodge an all but has any one ever changed out one on a explorer/mountianeer, it's 4wd and i was wondering since it's the hub and all couldnt i just press the old one off with a hub puller an smack the new one back on with a sand mallet?

I haven't done it yet on my wife's mountaineer but it'll soon be time (140k). Check out www.explorerforum.com. Lots of good info there.
