Missfire Help ?
Alright I have a 2001 Dodge 1500 Ram Quad Cab 4x4.
Last month i had the gasket for the intake manifold replaced. they also had to replace my spark plugs during this (covered in oil) . After the Gasket was replaced i had miss fires on cyl. 1 and cyl. 5. I took it into a shop and they said the wires were good and that they were going to check the distributor cap. It turned out they needed to replace the the fuel injector and fuel rail on bank 1. And replaced the O rings for the injectors on the driver side of the engine. They did this and the Miss firing of Cyl 1 and Cyl 5(cyl 1 was the worst). went away. About 1.5 weeks ago my rough idel came back, and last night my check engine light came on. I connected my scanner to the truck and it Read P0301 (miss fire detected on cyl 1.) I was wondering if any one here knows what could be causing this??? thanks.

Chances are if you didn't replace the lower intake with one of these, the gasket is leaking again. http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/p...2&partid=22220
And it is quite possible that the valves are burned from the previous gasket being blown and/or the valves are all carboned up and using some Techron plus and Seafoaming may clear it up. You can also try this http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1998/18-48-98/18-48-98-v8.htm
