ive been having an argument with some friends and family..

when putting a 3 inch lift(from the stock ride height) on a 4x4 truck with solid axles

should the axles be rotated a lil to not stress on the U joints..some say yes some say not

keep in mind..this is with stock 16x7 rims with normal size tires

your fine with a 3" lift. i run 5" and didnt do anything to axle angles and i havnt had a prob.

 

thats what im saying..i could see if it was 5+ inches of lift..but i think three with the exact size rims i have and tires i have

16x7 rims 265/75/16 tires

lifted three inches..i dont think i should have to adjust the axles at all..not to mention ive got new u joints on the front shaft..and we believe the rear driveshaft u joints are 101K miles old

i could understand if it was gonna be mudding and flexing alot but it wont be that often for a huge suspension flex so it should be good

 

ya you will be fine.

 

When you get a kit with new control arms they help put the axle back at the right caster. At 3in you should be fine but at the limit of the stock control arms. If you take the truck to the shop and have them align it they should adjust the caster with an adjuster on the front of the bottom control arms. As far as the u-joints go they are supposed to be at odd angles and a 3 in lift is nothing to extreme for them.

the way i figured it..for the top of the line OEM replacement suspension parts that id like to replace cause everything you see in that kit has had alot of hard plowing done to it..and its sagging lol especially up front



so what i thought was it cant be to much more from the top of the line stock replacement from this lift kit

no obviously its wayy in the future but it doesnt hurt to just talk about it

 

Your fine, i was running a 6 1/2 on 33's before i took it out half of it and they are fine
