Default 05 wheels on a 97 RAM

Hi, didn't' see anything in the FAQ. Will 17" stock steel 05 Dodge Ram rims fit on a 97 1500? I did some research and although the bolt pattern is the same, looks like 02 and up have diff backspace, so won't work correct? Thanks!

welcome!! should fit, front may need spacers and backspace is personal preference. may need smaller or narrower tires tho

Ok I have not tried it but I have seen the newer 17's on a 2nd gen is your truck 2wd or 4wd

Thanks both! BTW, My white bumper was smashed, so I'm getting a chrome one from the junkyard. Chrome should fit fine correct? Was the chrome an upgrade...looks nice on yours!

either someone painted yours or you have a sport...chrome will fit

i had to get new wheels for mine thanks to a lovely encounter with and old lady lol but i got stock 17's steels from an 2010 with brand new rubber and they bolted up fine and no problems

I got the 4 steel rims from a 2004 RAM 17" and they fit fine! Thanks :-)

That's good news that 03+ 1500 wheels will bolt up to 2nd gen 1500's! I'm looking for a set of 17's currently, where are you guys finding your's?
