my new dodge!
nice loking truck.. but you've got a llot to learn.. you'll learn these truck have a lot of little problems that you'll figure out over the next year... 35's with 3.55 gears.. you're crazy.. i wouldn't running anything over a 33"... death flash.. your truck prolly has it.. killing your performance.. yes your truck will get poor mpg.. so don't post a thread about crappy milage.. there's already a million of them.. average is anywhere from 10-15mpg.. below that.. you've got problems....also running 35's with a lift you need to think about upgrading steering and brake components....
welcome to DF.. get a profile picture up and let the learning begin!!

I have read alot in the last week. Searches dont always turn up strait forward answers... so I have to ask again although its been covered a time or two.
As far as i could tell , to check for leaks in the plenum gasket, look into the throttle body? I didnt see any oil puddling up, but what looks like a light film to me.

I didnt really find much on death flash other than "i think i have death flash" and get the superchip tuner to fix... and there might be a sticker saying its been checked? not clear on all that tho. What is death flash exactly? something to do with the computer and timing? superchip is one popular option to reprogram it...? I found this sticker, does this tell me anything? or is there a specific way I check for it?

my truck is NOT lacking power at all, so i wasnt really planning to do anything that wasnt necessary right away. And i expected the MPG to be like you said. I havent even gotten thru the first tank yet, so i dont know what the MPG is yet. got half tank to go.
My old truck was a 3/4 ton, so it had 4.10 gears, i didnt really think to check that before i bought this one tho... what so crazy about doing 35s with the 3.55 ? figured might get a little worse mpg and losing low end power?
thanks for all the advice so far!

death flash is where the factory detuned the engine to fix pinging issues they had in the engine. yes super chips will fix it and i will feel like a new truck with the 93 performance tune, but be careful i super chips made my computer quit calling for lock up so when the torque converter doesn't lock up it kicks out of over drive, therefore heating the trans up to the point the trans temp light comes on. took the super chips off the truck it started calling for lock uo, by then my torque converter was burned up. so $1200 later i sold the super chips. and just delt with the weakness. good luck
that makes better sense then. didn't really see anyone spell it out when i was searching.
so it i got a tuner like superchips ... its not something that would be left installed, just hooked up and then removed? then could i reuse one someone else has ?

no usually they are vin locked which means you install on your truck it locks you vin number in and hold your stock perimeters. when you uninstall the programmer it will unlock your vin and install stock perimeters and can then be installed on something else compatable. basically it is for one vehicle at a time!
so does it look like my plenum is ok for now ? And whats so crazy about 35s with 3.55 ? I dont want to buy another truck, so if it caused too much trouble, then i could upgrade to a lower gear later on.
