3/8. just the little cheap plastic one is all that needed.
there's been millions and millions of engines put together with a needle style torque wrench, but you can get a cheap click style for about $20 thats good enough.
if you do the timing chain you'll need a balance puller. you can bottow/rent one if you don't have one.
