Default Got my new dash cover in!

I ordered a molded dash cover last week after reading about them in another thread. I already had a cover, but I liked the idea of a molded one better. It arrived today and I'm sorta pleased. I say sorta because I expected it to be stiffer, but it came rolled up in a box. It does look better than the cover I had, but it is slightly lighter in color. I had to open up the vent holes a bit so they didn't obstruct defroster output, but a sharp pair of scissors was all that was needed. Sits nice and flat and feels better than the velour one it replaced.

Unfortunately, I also discovered that my pristine dash was no longer so. No idea why, but this is what it looks like now.

I'm really bummed about this.

If anyone's interested, I'm going to sell my old cover in the Classifieds section.

I think I'll move this thread to the "for sale" section! LOL Look nice though.

Smart ***. You're right, though, so I changed it.

can I borrow your woodgrain dash swear I'll give it back, I like the molded look don't know about the "ears" hanging on the passenger side but it does look nice.

New Dash:

New cover looks good. I bet the weight of the carpet mixed with just the hot weather is what cracked it.

What good is an OEM replacement dash? It'll eventually crack like this one.

If that other cover weighs more than a half pound total, I'll be surprised. Think I'll just cover the entire dash with contact cement and glue the new cover to it. That should hold all the pieces in place.

Because they didn't have color samples on the website. I e-mailed them and asked them which was darker, the gray or the charcoal. She said charcoal. The flash makes it look lighter, but I wanted it to be a little darker. I didn't want black because it attracts more heat and fades.

Thats the new one from Mopar that wont crack. See the reinforcement on the bottom of it? Our factory dashes dont have that. Whenever mine cracks I will be saving up to buy that one. I've got 179,000 miles and 11 years with no cracks yet!
