Default lift /tire size question

i have a 01 4x4 1500 ram, i have the 2.5 leveling kit and three inch body lift waiting to be installed and need some tire info. i have been told by a few local shops that with this lift i could go as big as a 37 and was wondering if this was true? i was not planning on going that big, just curious. also would like to know if you thought a 15-35-15 tsl on a 15x12 rim and tire would work with this setup? any mods to make this work? thanks

i wouldn't go with 35s unless your planning a gear install if not its real hard on the transmission

Welcome to DF, lost of good info here

Do any of those "local shops" have guys running a Ram 1500 with that setup?

My guess is they don't and they don't know. There are some folks here that run a similar tire and have far more lift than that. I would suggest a galley search.
With a 2.5 lift and a body lift, the maximum tire you can SAFELY run is a 35. That is with a proper rim and also with a gear swap.
Otherwise, you are limited to a 33 inch tire.
Running 37's with 1500 axles is pretty dicey. Perhaps you should consider a 2500 or swapping to 2500 axles.

Probably a 16X8 with 4.5 inches of backspacing, and that would be with a 35x12.5 or a slghtly smaller 315/75 sized tire.
