Default Problem with brake pull

ok heres the deal got a 96 ram 1500 4x4 im doing some work to for a freind. the trucks defintaly in need of an alignment but its also diving to the left when u press the brakes under normal braking conditions, and then at a stand still just simply pressing the brake pedal it will continue just about to the floor. took it to a shop the guy there said it was air in the lines an it needed new brake lines then i was also thinkin it could be the master cylinder, so if theres any ways of testing this it would be great to hear about it an if anyone would happen to have had this happen i dont know any help would be appreciated

If you do have to get a new master cylinder, dont get one for a '96, get one for a '97, it has a bigger center bore.

There probably is air in those lines. Bleed the whole system (which includes flushing them; just bleed them until clear fluid comes out at the hose).

appear to be in working order? you wont know until you take them off and try to compress the piston.

on my fiancees maxima i went to change the pads in the rear, and i couldnt compress the piston/ so i had a bad caliper, but i couldnt feel a difference in breaking.
