who the **** thinks they can "jump" one of these trucks... I mean they weight freakin 6,000+ pounds ... just cause they do it on tv.. doesn't mean you can do it in real life...

so.. next time you see a snow "hill" remember that you can't jump it... and you're prolly high point and get stuck
Actually not paying attention to how fast your are going down a narrow trail (30mph+) and not noticing the little bump ahead = SLAM + WTF just happened!!!!!

I thought I just hit it hard till I got out and found gaps in the tread marks in the dirt!!! My poor truck, lol.

hmm this is a hard one

cause its fun to try and do **** that you arent supposed to with your truck..
sides..not all of us drive like Ms. Daisy on sunday going to the f**kin grocery store man

its called pushing the limits and seeing what you can do with your truck

i could do **** behind the wheel of all my vehicles that were completely off the wall and the vehicle itself wasnt designed to do...

why? cause its fun and who gives a ****..id rather break something having fun than driving like grandpa and falling asleep and the ****ing wheel cause i was following the road rules to the point

/end rant sorry your post just really coulda been worded better

then again im sure mine can be too

I really wasn't trying to "jump" it. That was a poor choice of words. I was trying to climb over it. I was going no faster than 5 mph.

If you're going over a snowbank, especially of that size, you need a little bit (but not a lot) of speed. Not enough to jump it, but enough that your frame/skid plates can slide over it, if necessary, rather than come to rest on top. My wife almost high centered her Jeep Grand Cherokee once because she thought "I have a Jeep and four wheel drive now! I can go over small snow banks in between parking lots rather than take the long way on the regular road!"

Luckily I was with her, and told her to give it a little more speed before it was to late. In her defense, it is her first vehicle larger than a compact car (previous vehicle was a Kia Rio), and her first 4WD.

Snow banks and snow are a slightly different animal than mud/mudding.

I'll keep that in mind, Jason. I was afraid to get much speed. I really can't afford to break something.

Yeah, you are better off going too slow and high centering than too fast and launching it. These front ends wont handle too much airtime.

i've gotten mine airborne a few times on train tracks and humps in the road. it hasn't seen as much air as the thunderbird though, i jumped the t-bird one time and i thought i smacked the frame on the ground because i landed so hard.

Thats a bone jaring feeling when you bottom out on the frame. did that in the nova once coming over a lane change and the right lane was about a foot lower then the left and i didnt realise it and changed lanes, got a lil air on the turn and bottomd out on the bottom of the hill. hurts your whole freaking body

Okay no offence, but if you can't afford to break something on your truck, then what the **** are you doing jumping/climbing hills of snow for?
