99 dodge am I getting a good deal
I just sold my car and I'm looking at this 1999 dodge 1500 4x4.
details it has th 5.9L magnum engine. 114,000 miles, extended cab. both rears doors work, New dash. ( guess the old one was trashed), 4x4, power doors, locks, window, keyless entry, cruise, cd player, overhead info center, gibson exhaust, 4in suspension lift. (rancho), aftermarket wheels( not sure of brand they are 15s), spray in bed liner along with dodge rubber matt, towing package, 70% tread left on some decent nobby tires, dodge step rails( not sure what they are called. )
The price will be $5400. If yall can give me your insight on this truck that would be great. thanks in advance.

High KBB for that truck is $6,000. That's in excellent condition, which few trucks of this kind are in and doesn't take region into consideration. I'd try to get him down closer to $5k simply because no one wants these gas hogs right now.
Is it a dealership and are you paying cash, if you're paying cash and not finacing you can talk a dealer down to 4500 or 4000 and have him take care of the tax tag and tittle fees, cash talks alot to dealers.
If it's a private owner then i'd just see what you can do about bringing the price down a little at a time, private owners have alot more invested in the trucks to drop the price down as much as a dealer.
a dealer looks at cash as an instant return on their investment other than when it's being financed they will let you put either half or 1/4 down so they can atleast get some back to show.
I like to buy with cash more than credit/finance because it goes alot further kinda a good faith kinda thing.
When i buy a car from auction and try and flip it i usually only take cash, but in certian occation's i will take a little bit down and a payment every two weeks untill it's paid off.
But ultimately i prefer the full payment that day just so i can move onto bigger and better things.
Having my dealers license i see both sides of a deal, some people are simply there to make money and will screw you out of every last dollar you got, and then there are those dealers that really give a damn and want to end their relationship with you on a good note that way they know you will be coming back and you just might tell a friend and send them their way. Dealers are ultimately there to make money but help you drive off the lot in the truck you want.

depending on what has been done with the plenum gaskets,if theyve been done, what has been done with the tranny
and how it drives, etc
i would prolly say at least 4,200 at most 5K
you wave 5K dollars cash in someones face..they will give in pretty easily..especially in todays economy

Also depends on where your buying the truck from (City,State) check the averages for your area. Will give you an "idea" if it's a good deal or not. Unless they guy is hard up for cash waving anything significantly less than what they're asking for is not going to sway him much, especially if the "average" for the area is more than what he is asking. I drove 2 hours south (almost to FIB land) to save a little over $2000 on the ol'rust bucket.
the truck is located in Alamaba, the average around here are about 5-6 thousand.
I drove the truck it seems to shift fine. also tested the 4wd. the shifts were smooth. and punchy at all.
curious about this plenum issue that was mentioned.
