Default What Transfer Case Do I Have?

Hi, I know from the sticky, I could have one of four transfer cases. Can anyone tell me how to find out which one I have? I want to change fluid.

Also what is w/PTO?

Not sure if I updated my sig correctly but I have a 2001 2500 4X4 5.9L

Thanks!

There is a tag on it. It will be one of the 241's.

Yeah, there is a round red and silver metal tag on the back of your transfer case (And almost all New Process transfer cases).

...And your case takes ATF+4 fluid.

PTO=Power Take Off, an option that allows connection of devices that take their power from the transfer case.

V8 2500s do not have this feature found only on the NV241HD transfer case.

Unless you have the NV4500 5-speed manual transmission. They have PTO.

See, this is how you **** me off. The original question was about transfer cases, not transmissions. But in your zeal to show the forum how much your 14 year old punk *** knows, you just had to chime in with your unrelated comment. Or maybe you just want so very bad to show up the old guy. I don't know what it is, but it is getting very annoying. I specifically was referring only to the transfer case, which is all the OP asked about. Your reply was unnecessary. Had you simply made your statement I would not have taken offense, but since you quoted me in the process you made it look like my statement was wrong. It wasn't.
