Default Ignition switch broken HELP

I put my key in the ignition, and it turned forward which turned everything on. However, it feels loose and won't engage the starter. It feels like something broke inside. Is there a way to take it apart and get a screwdriver in there to turn it? Is it the key tumbler assembly that broke? Or is it the ignition switch? If so, is this a dealer part?

EDIT: It's a 1996 with 318.

It would probably be the switch (which does not have to be bought at the dealer), but the only way to tell is to take it apart. From what I recall from reading a long time ago, you will re-use the tumbler (you will need your key to remove it), and there are tamper proof torx bits holding the switch in that you will need to remove. Other than that, it looks like a quick job replacing the switch.

If you call tearing apart the steering column quick, then
yes it is.

um... the only disassembly to the steering column is 3 torx 20 screws... I do call that quick. Then a couple for the ignition switch and two plugs, not difficult at all.
