Default Alternator

Hey guys I have a 1998' 1500 4x2 318 and was wondering what alternator I need.I called the parts store and they have two a 90 and a 100something.Which one is the right one to get?

It depends on what amps it is. I'm getting ready to replace mine and i'm going to a 136amp, but i'm also running more lights on my truck. The higher amps the better.

get the best one you can find, so you dont have to worry if you add aftermarket acc.

If you upgrade the alt. you should also go to a larger wire from it to PDC and use a matching fuse.
They had three in that year I believe, 90,117, & 136.
