Sounds like a broken ground, check your fuse pannel and make sure the wiring is good there then look around the assend of your truck on the driverside theres a disconnect right by your spare tire, make sure everything is connected the way it's supposed to be.

I have pulled out every single fuse in the dash and under the hood. EVERY FUSE. and the lights still on. i take it someone has put the hitch under the truck for towing, and it does have the trailor wiring in between the factory harness. i will try and take out the towing harness and plug the original wiring back up. the wiring somewhere is what i am suspecting like you said.

Thats going to be where your problem is, if some one doesnt know what they'er with the wiring they will **** something up. Bypass the trailer wiring and see if that does anything

just got my truck back today and the tail light problem is fixed. come to find out it was the bracket that the brake pedal switch goes into was bent. i guess over time the bracket bent back a bit causing the preset switch not to turn them off. just a pair of pliers to bend it back and i am in business again. so i guess one thing to check on if anyone reading this has the same problem is to check the switch bracket first thing. save on a costly repair bill. the mechanic took it easy on me though, only charged me $15 bucks.
