A plastic putty knife, you don't want to scratch up the paint.

Beware, many owners put that crap on to cover up rusted out doors and cab corners. You may be asking for trouble by taking it off.

offroadjosh and I got into this dicussion the other week. He posted a pic of one but you can't honestly tell by looking at it that it is truely a 3500, since the badging can be changed so easily. Heck I thought about putting 2500 emblems on mine for fun. I'll post the same thing i posted earlier

(4th paragraph under the heading "Used Dodge Ram 3500 Models")

The previous-generation Dodge Ram 3500 was produced from 1994-2002. The base engine was a 5.2-liter V8 engine, with an 8.0-liter V10 or 5.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel optional. Unlike the current generation, the 3500 was only available with a dual rear axle. In 1998, the Quad Cab was introduced with twin rear-hinged doors and a larger backseat. The interior was also redesigned that year, which included the addition of a standard passenger-side airbag with a cutoff switch. In 2000, improvements were made to the steering and suspension, while a high-output Cummins turbodiesel joined the lesser oil-burner in 2001.

Also, check this out (under section 2.4)

I have never seen a 3500 non dual rear axle except for the 3rd gens. If you know of some, please link to them. I've been curious for quite some time. I asked offroadjosh to scan the window sticker but hasn't gotten back to me.
