is yours a 5.2 or 5.9? mine is the 5.9 and is externally balanced. maybe thats the difference.thats why the underdrive pulley cost 200$+, instead of 100$ for a whole set.it has the harmonic balancer right with the pulley.

yep, jus tthe crank also.....not really noticeable power, but theres a couple hills here in town that it kinda chugs goin up slow and wants to downshift, now its nice and smooth and holds gear good,little better passing too
my pulley finally came today. gonna try to get it on this weekend. i will let you know what i think.
and still thinking about getting the airgap too.got the extra money for it,just cannt make my mind up.

got the underdrive pulley on. didnt really get to see if it made any difference yet. the belt part# they give was wrong. i tried 3 different belts. i am finally down to a 87inch one.and it squeaks a little when you punch the throttle. went and got a 86 inch one,(4th belt) should be the right one now. got tired of messing around with it. get it installed tomorrow. then i will test it out. not a bad install though. it took about a hour. rented a pulley/harmonic balancer puller from advanced for 106$ and got all my money back.
Damn, wish i got to this thread soon. Should have gone with the air gap right away. Your really not going to feel anything with the pully, just a little more weight reduction and a faster spin. Prolly good for about 5hp at most.
If you still have the cash and feel like spending it, id say go and get it still. If your planning the cam down the road its only going to help you even more. Plus, your plenum (as you said) is bound to go at some point. Might as well fix it once and have the benifits now. That underdrive pully will be a nice little help when you have the cam, its something youd prolly wanna look at in the future anyway so thats one more part down at the least.
