Default Need Crossmember info

Wow! I finally got the truck paid for, and everything falls to pieces at once! I am supposed to pick up the rear end to get four-wheel drive back tomorrow, but today my trans started making the worst grinding sound when up-shifting. This is the second half ton trans I've fried in two years of owning her, so I'm upgrading to the NV4500 3/4 ton trans. I've found one, but it doesn't come with a cross member. What styles will fit (i.e. anything out of a 3/4 ton truck, or is it trans specific?) And, while I'm at it, is there anything else? I know I need a new clutch, and I'll probably have to mod the drive shaft, but anything else? Any pointers? Thanks!

I thought the nv4500 only bolted up to the V10 and Cummins? I thought I saw that somewhere here

So long as you get the bell housing from the 2500 you can bolt it up to the 1500. Bet you could get the cross member off the 2500 and get it to fit the 1500. When my 3500 finally craps out I'll be upgrading to the 4500. the price difference is not enough to shy from and you can actually tow something with the 4500.

edit: or so I've read...

There are two variations of the NV 4500: the difference being the input shaft size. There was one version for the 360, and one with a larger shaft for the diesel. The NV 3500 was classed as a medium duty, the NV 4500 as a heavy duty, rated for 400+ ft. lbs., and a GCVW of 19,000 lbs.
