Default Truck feels like it is missing once you hit overdrive..

Could be clutches slipping I guess. It goes in every gear fine, maybe a lil more hesitation than I would expect, but it has 234k on it. 4x4 works great in hi and low, Idles decent with maybe a very slight miss. Prior owner said he had the tranny checked, but who knows. I can lock it in cruise in od say at 60mph and it does fine, just alot of jumping and missin up to that point. seems to do alot better with the od button pushed in and off. Thanks for any help, I'm new to Rams but excited to own this truck. I have always loved them.

we need more info on the truck, fill out your sig with year, model, engine size, 2 or 4wd, and we'll be able to help more.

But the 46RE trannys (1996.5-2001) have many issues, and typically need a rebuild by 150K. Hows the fluid? How does the fluid smell?

A lot of us here turn the od off up to cruising speed. I do it as soon as I grab the shifter, its habit now. These trans are known for shifting too early and gear hunting. Especially shifting into overdrive. I can't stand when it shifts into od at like ~ 40mph and just falls on its face. with the od off you have a little power on tap if ya need it, and I find I get better mileage doing this.
