Default How will truck run if I cut cat completely off of it???

I know it will breathe better, but I also know some vehicles don't run worth a crap. I live in a rural area, and know the local muffler shop owner, he has cut cats off and gutted them for me in the past. How will these trucks run if I cut it off and put straight pipe in its place? I'm sure there is an o2 sensor behind the cat on these too isn't there?

itll run fine, yes there is a sensor on yours, but if it throws a CEL, you can get an o2 sim, tie it to your frame rail, or put in a couple sparkplug nonfoulers

You have sensors. I gutted mine on my 5.9l, it opened it up and runs better and sounds good too. It will throw your engine light though. If you don't mind that then go for it.

you will lose some bottom end, its pretty loud, i did it, got really annoying real fast esp on long trips. currently mine is still gutted with a flowmaster 40 behind it, which put a lil more back pressure on it. but i think when i get the funds im gonna get a high flow cat. I could tell a huge difference in how much low end torque i lost, its a PITA when going through mtns, i noticed the tranny had to downshift more often.

Smile hoping all goes well on trip tommorow

that should give me a real good indication of everything that the truck does and doesn't do. Hope to fix the door hinge pin at least on my driver door to cut back on the horrible wind noise. It blows my mind on how people neglect their vehicles.
