Default 4 wheel drive problem, frustrated

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my 99 1500 disengaging from 4 wheel high and low, get a loud clunking.Already replaced vacuum shift motor, cheked vacuum lines, checked condition of shift fork and all good. Can anyone help me? Getting very frustrated with this problem!

Where is it coming from? It could be the U-Joints.

it's normal, every 4x4 dodge i'v had has done it and nothing ever happend

Does it do it when you're stopped? Mine made a clunking noise along with feeling like I hit a bump the other day when we had a bunch of ice and I disengaged the 4x4 while I was doing about 30mph. It doesn't do it when I'm stopped though.

Can you explain what you mean by shifts out of? Do you mean the light goes off or your floor lever moves or you don't feel it or there's a noise...
