Stealership says what??
That is a good pic of the area, if you grab the steel colored part of the shaft and it moves up/down or sideways, the oem bushing or spring is broke. I have one of those on my old truck that is getting swapped to the new one.
when i went there looking for a u-joint, they said they were 85 a piece....i went to AZ, and got both u-joints for less than 30 bucks....but i have to admit they have helped me out in the past, so i cant talk to much ****, but still, dealerships make way to much money, and the thing is, people keep comming back....We have had 5 dealerships close in my area....One was a honda dealership, 2 were ford, 1 was dodge, and one was chevy....i guess people in my area are getting sick of paying high prices....which is why im so glad i chose to be a mechanic as my profession....but when i do need to go to the dealership its a 40 minute drive since they closed the dodge dealer in my city..................

Your steering issues probably the lower bushing just as the steering shaft leaves the case. 59 part needed to fix this Dodge design flaw.

Where is this located? So I can check to see if mine needs to be replaced (99/99999% sure it does). And is it an easy swap (1hr vs. 6hr puzzle)?
Under the brake booster. Should take a couple hours at most. There is two ways to do it, that the instructions will explain. I found it way easier to remove the column.
I figure that is where my "play" is coming from. I had my 7yo son turning it back and forth from point of play to point of play while I layed underneath looking at everything. The pitman arm barely moved, and everything else was snug. It has to be play between the wheel and the pump. Stealership was on crack saying that the track bar was loose. And since they quoted me a price to replace the track bar that was nearly as low as buying a new one, I smelled fish.
Hey, that's only 20 minutes from me. Was it Pinehurst or Aberdeen? I know McBrayer dodge is in Aberdeen but I didn't know there was one in Pinehurst.
