I change my cap and rotor every 6 months because I get bored. Plus it gives me a good reason to seafoam the TB, and clean the K&N. My truck is really clean.

I only use lucas oil additives because it keeps the viscosity perfect and conditions the piston rings. i do it for preventative maint because I BELIEVE it works.

As for gas:

I have the fitch fuel catalyst, so i can fill up with any gas. but I use Valero gas. They are AMerica's #1 and biggest oil refiner.
I DO NOT USE MOBIL OR CHEVRON:
1. Mobil gets most of their oil from the middle east (I am a 2X OIF veteran)
2. Chevron is a STATE OWNED oil company from Venezuela. Their president HATES america and is very outspoken about it. SO I don't want a dime going to their country.

I would get Sunoco if they sold it here though. Phillips 66 is very good. Better than valero IMHO. But I own stock in valero. Conoco/Phillips was too expensive and so was sunoco (Stock proces).

If I take a six pack outside and drink that while working on my truck on a sunday, I am working. But sitting on the couch drinking a six pack and hearing my wife ask "Why are you drinking so much!?!?" she treats it like i am an alky. ANd I hardly drink. Maybe that is why she is so surporised to see mee throw down a 6 pack every once in a while.

EDIT: i do not condone drinking while working on a vehicle...but it is the freakin cap and rotor. Its not like I am adjusting valve lash wearing a tie.

I just started using Lucas upper cylinder Lubri/ cleaner at 108k, and it seems to if anything settled my idle down just a bit. Normally when I started it, it'd sit about 5-10 secs, rev up to about 1000-1200, then go back down to 650-700 idle. Now it starts, levels at 600-650 idle, and doesn't budge, til i touch the throttle. Seems to have a bit quicker response, but could just be in my head as well :P

Lucas oil additive in every oil change. It sticks to everything in the engine to prevent dry starts. It aslo use to really help with the valve tick in my old Explorer.
I don't add anything to the fuel, but usually fill up at shell.

I used fuel injector antifreeze because of the damn cold weather. When you average 2 degrees for the winter, and just a little bit of moisture causes a lot of headaches.

Actually Valero's gas is watered down...i have a friend who works fo them. Mobil IS one of the cleanest fuels out there.
