Anyone else have this problem?
The other day I was coming home and a deer wandered out onto the road, I didnt notice the deer until I was about 200 feet from it, so I slammed on the brakes (HARD) and procceded to blow my front brakes out, and break the front passenger side rotor in half (all the cooling fins disolved, now i have a large steel frisbee). Anyway, I put on new front rotors, new front brakes, and a new passenger side caliper, but when I went to bleed the brakes, I found no matter how many times they were pumped up and bled, I still had a spongy pedal. I ended up opening the bleeders and letting it gravity bleed for awhile, than coming back out and bleeding them again.
Anyone else having problems with bleeding the brakes or is it just me?

i had this problem on my old mazda b2200.... i replaced all the front brake components, the rear was reconditioned, put ina new used master cylinder and ran all new brake lines. still after all the i had a mushy pedal and found myself refilling the brake fluid all the time. never did find that leak
I talked to someone and said that there is a proportining valve right beneath the reservior on the master cylinder, They said when a brake line pops this valve senses that there is no back pressure and a pin slides shut so you dont loose all your brake fluid and your brakes. They also said that in order to release this pin you have to hit the brakes hard and fast.
I dunno, I got good pedal now, this make sense to anyone?

yeah, they work great now, first time I hit the brakes i thought i was gonna go through the winshield. I should have done the rears to while i was at it, and now im not looking forward to bleeding them again =\
