Is there not better wires out there that are "sheilded"?

I would make sure your battery is up to par (like real strong) and throw a coil at it.

Tested the injectors and they all seemed to read in the proper range, 11.9 low and 12.5 high.
Had a peek into the throttle body, looked much cleaner than I expected, no traces of oil at all, so I think I can rule out the plenum.

It wouldn't hurt to do a compression test and a leakdown test.

Default thank you

This is the exact problem I"m having. People keep telling me it is the plenum. Every shop I've taken it to say the plenum won't make my truck shutter and shake, just use alot of oil. I was having the multiple misfires, changed all plugs and now i'm just misfire on 8.

A local shop is doing a compression test for me in the morning and going to test the injectors and to see if i'm getting fire on that cylinder. I'm not doubting my plenum needs replaced, but I don't think it is causing my truck to shake and shutter at low rpms.

Default That tsb exactly describes my issues.

Thank you so much. My first multiple misfire was on 5 and 8. So this pretty much desribes my problem to a T

Symptoms: some vehicles may exhibit one or more of these symptoms:
  • spark knock complaints with vehicle under load
  • various single cylinder misfire (1, 3, 7,) ad especially 5 and/or 8
  • surge in 4th gear with the Electronically Modulated Converter Clutch (EMCC) engaged (around 45MPH).
  • Perceived torque converter EMCC engagement/ disengagement around 45 MPH.

Small, inconclusive update:

Besides testing the fuel injectors, I really didn't do anything.
I started the wire reroute, just did the coil wire since I didn't have the right clips.
Had the batt disconnected, when I hooked it back up the codes were gone and it drove normally.

Not happy with this, I'm sure the gremlin will come back. Will finish the wire reroute [anyone know where to get them stud mounted wire clips from?], I'll post back here when it happens again.

Yes, I am fatalistic when it comes to crap like this.

Gremlin came back, truck started shuddering a bit waiting at a light, CEL started flashing, lost almost all power taking off from the light, and barely managed to limp home.
I'm at a loss, guess I'll have to take her in to get diagnosed.
