Default Spring swap question

I have seen the posts about lifting the front of a 4x4 4" by using 2500 springs in it. Does it matter what year they come from?

Reason being I found a guy selling some 2500 springs out of an 07. I also found some Superlift Rear 4 1/2 inch lift springs cheap so I am gonna buy them anyways. Could get 4" of lift for around $225 plus shocks.

Thanks

There's a 2500 gas and a 2500 diesel truck and the springs are different. So it will depend on what they come out of. Not sure on year swap though. Also, I've never heard of them giving a 4" lift. More around 2".

I doubt those '07 springs will even work on a 2nd gen. The lift comes from putting 2nd gen 2500 springs from a diesel/V10 into a 1500 and it is closer to 2", not 4", and depends on the condition of the springs you get. You can buy new diesel/V10 springs separately or in a leveling kit from Skyjacker and get them in lifts from 2" to 7" heights.

Well I have 2" spacers already so I could put those on top of the springs to get 4 inches but that might throw things out of wack. I will just pick up the rear springs and save them a rainy day

just save yoruself the trouble, get a kit... the V10 springs deal is, its a good way to level, or get a 2 inch lift in the front, sometimes 4 if you add the spacers, it wont throw anythign off... not 4 inchs.,.
