hello all i have a 99 1500 360 4x4. i just bought this knowing it had trans problems let me explain. last night i bought the truck and drove it home. it would totaly skip second gear you had to let off the gas to get it to shift then it would go 1-3-4 totally missing second. the guy i got it from said the gov pressure solenoid was bad. after doing a little research i decided to pull the pan and have a look. today i pull the pan and the front band strut is laying in the pan. i thought perfect found the problem. i got a new strut pulled valve body inspected band put the strut in adjusted the band to spec put it all back toghther. take it for a drive now i have second gear and maybe 3 and 4 ounce ans awhile if i leave the shifter in 2nd it will shift 1-2 every time if i put it in drive it will stay in first gear. so as i am test driving it engine light comes on i go to autozone they check it is p1756 gov. pressure. will that solenoid cause my problem or is there something else wrong ? thanks in advance

 

The best answer I could give you is to take care of your CEL and take it from there. It sounds logical that that would be your problem.
