i have to replace the starter, but not sure how to identify if it's of the gear-reducing variety or not....called the parts donkeys at the local advance and they have 3 different starters listed

2001 1500 4x4 5.9L

thoughts are much appreciated as time is critical, i need to get the truck running as I am heading out of town tonight!!!

Huh? Go some where else if you can.(or deal with another counter guy) There is only one starter listed even at the advance auto website. Well, there is 3 actually, but one is cheap, one is cheaper and the last one is cheaperer! LOL

 

that's what you get for relying on those f*cktards....should have looked it up, so guess i am the real dipsh*t....thanks zman
