Default Dry start, valve cover knocking

Today I started my truck and it was making a fairly loud clicking noise which sounded like it was coming from my valve cover. I took it to the local performance shop today and of course after driving it up there the sound was gone. He suggested that it could have been a dry start. It would sort of make sense that it could be a dry start since the truck hasn't been run in 3 days since today. But then again I've gone on vacation for 2 weeks and when started it didn't do it. Could there be an issue with my rocker arms? It's just weird that it's gone after driving it for 30 miles. Thanks for your input!

You might just be low on oil. Check that.

I don't think so, I did my oil 4 weeks ago (10w-30 royal purple) and checked it today and its still at 3/4 of the safe zone.

were you parked on a decline that could possilbly not send enough oil to the cylinder when you started it

i know my 318 dry starts but it doesnt do it for 30 miles but mines from the oil sending unit is on the front of the engine and it only does it on start up then immediately stops.. plus i see yours is the 360 so that wouldnt be the problem for you

It did this morning. That's the only time I've actually noticed it.

Okay I'll start it tomorrow morning and see what happens. Thanks for the replies. I'll take a video in the morning just in case it does it again and I'll post it on the tube.
