OK jus asking a couple of questions
I dont know if my thingy says it but i have a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd with the 8ft bed. Any ways here are my questions:
1) Horrible idle now for some reason. Just started 2days ago. Before it would idle at roughly 800-900rpm. Now its nearly 1100rpm, Which i mean sounds awesome lol deep sound almost but the whole truck shakes and vibrates. So is there anything that may be causing that?
2) What are the effects of driving for a long period of time with shot shocks lol. My bed rocks back and forth like it was floating lol not only that but going over a speed bump makes the back hand hop in the air. So i wna kno if its gna get worse from here on out cause its starting to squeak badly when going over a bump.
3) My rear end is loud as hell. When i had the tranny replaced like 7000miles ago the guy said its bad and even my mechanic said theres a noise back there that he cant figure out(by the way my mechanic is also my brother-in-law who owns his own shop and built his mustang that he raises to do 9sec in the quarter on a street block and nitrous, so hes good at what he does). Anyways its getting to the point where i cant hear the exhaust over my rear end. So anyone know what could cause that?
4) How much would a new bed for the truck cost? Cause right now with the dents and the paint chipping its starting to rus along the tailgait( which doesnt even fit right), theres rust along the wheel wells, the actual bed is starting to rust lol. Actually to be honnest the whole vehicle is rusting lol even the frame looks rusted. But i wna get a new bed or a better one. Also how well do the dually beds mount up on these trucks cause they are wider where the wheels are and the 265's are cutting it close to sticking out and the cops are taking any reason they can to bust me right now. So i need a couple of options here lol.
5) What am i gna do about all this rust lol. Bout 40% of the roof is rusted, Its rusted around the 3rd brake light, ofcourse the bed, And the hood is only getting worse lol so help.
6) Tire sizes: Right now im runnin 245/75/R16 in the front and 265/75/R16 in the rear. While i got enough clearence in the rear, I wna go bigger in the front and im worried about rubbing considering the front end is bent back about 2in from when i wrecked it. By the way the height is stock. But i wna go bigger but i dont wna have a problem with rubbing the tires in the wheel wells.
7) and finally for now. My air filter in the air box looks burnt. And i mean that literally lol. Most of it is black and burnt. And since a new air filter round here is costing me rougly 50 dollars its not getting cheap. Ive already cleans the airbox and the throttle body but it didnt help that much so im wondering what else could cause this.
Jus to let u know the history of the truck incase it might help. Before i got it the truck was used as a work truck from a guy and his father. After i got it i had a tune up done and 4new tires (245/75/R16). When i was down in tennesse the sealing around the passenger headlight went away so thats filled with moisture. Headlights cut off when i run heat longer then 30min. Had to rub the bed of the truck against a pole(got all the paint frome the pole off the truck) to get into the shop without hitting my buddies lancer( he would of been screwed). Went offroading and pulled out a lil s10 blazer. Went back out and had to get pulled out. Got hit by a white car and mashed in the right side of the bed infront of the tire. Got hit by a 300C at a stop light( thus the shocks gone bad lol i was stoped and he plowed into me and i didnt move) Had to replace the tranny at 203k miles or so. Came back home after i quit college(they were trying to force me into rehab and i told them no and did a burnout in front of the office lol) and the i wrecked it by hitting a concrete median doing 50 on slick roads cause the truck wouldnt turn and just went strait(thus the bent frame and i had to replace the whole front suspension, tires, and tranny linkage. Also bent 2 out of 4 rims(which are now in the back)). So then i had 235/75/R16 in the front and 245/75/R16 in the rears lol. Then i had to get another tune up after only a couple of months. After those tires wore down to the wires i got the tires i got on now.
Aditional info: 5.2L engine, Oil changed every 3000miles ( Castrol Edge Full Synthetic), Loud knocking noise from somewhere in the engine all the time. I also have the towing package on the truck if that helps any. oh and its a 2wd auto.

for your question #1 i think its your TPS is bad and as far as your wheels sticking out fender flares would be the best case solution for that and you would probably have to level out the front of your truck to fit 265's on it if it still has the factory rake too it

I would agree that it may be time for a new truck.
A couple weeks ago my truck had almost the exact same idle problem, it normally idles at 600-700 and one day it idled at 1200 at red lights and 1800 in park. Ran a can of SeaFoam down the vacuum line and the throttle body, idles perfect now.

lol money is way to tight to junk it and get something now lol and im clean and sober now lol been a couple of weeks since i last done anything lol. my family is keeping a close watch on me so not much i can do there. and about the truck, there are to many fords and chevys here but i only drive dodge and this is all i can afford until i get a quad cab lol. hell 12mpg is that bad at all for me lol i jus wna get some things fixed before i ruin everything lol

The idle issue is most likely the TPS or IAC.
I agree with the rest. I'd not spend any more money on this truck and save up for a new (used) one. Once you have another, much better, one, use this current one for a parts truck. There are just to many major problems with your current truck that would cost you a fortune to fix.
