'99 Ram with interminit hot/smoking front brakes
My dad is having an issue with his truck. Every once in a while after about 15-20 miles his front brakes are super hot and smoking.
He said he doesn't feel any drag, with I think is odd.
I did a search but came up empty handed on this issue.
I was going to pull the tires today a look the calipers today, but he left it some place last night after driving it. Because if this issue.
I'm just curious if this is a common problem? It's both sides not just one.
Possible sticky calipers? wheel bearings? master cylinder?
If it makes a difference its a '99 with a Cummins in it with power assist brakes with about 115k.
Last year I replace the brake line above the fuel tank. And a few weeks ago I removed the rear load sensing proportioning valve because it failed.
The valve was 500 bucks and only installed for two years. So I deleted it.
TIA.

Thanks for all the help/suggestions bitches. Ended up shimming the master cylinder away from the power boost assembly .10". Temporary fix for now, until we can figure out what is causing the problem. Sorry, I'm not part of your gay click. Don't worry. I won't be back. I'll look under a rock for advise before I come back here. I'm sure I'd find more info there.
