2 questions Steering Problem ......................
Hey guys hope you can help me out please.
98 Ram 1500 4x4
Noticed couple weeks ago, let's say when I pull into a parking lot and make a hard turn left at a slow speed I get a weird noise but not when I turn the wheels to the right, hell I don't even know how to explain it, not a sound that the power steering unit makes when low on fluid just some wierd noise when I make a slow tight left turn ......Hmmmmmm
Anyways yesterday I noticed that now when I'm driving slow and turn the steering wheel kinda goes choppy on me , instead of a smooth free steering it kinda grabs a bit. No fluid leak at all and the power steering fluid level is perfect and no other noises at all ..................... Whatcha think ?
Here's another problem, 2001 Durango ...............
Fixed the power steering preasure hose leak on my wife's Durango last week, the hose was bad. Directions said to flush and bleed the system by disconnecting the return line at pump end and cap pump, fill the reservoir and start engine cycle wheel side to side {fill reservoir } as required until fluid is clear from hose. Remove flushing cap , connect return line hose and re-check fluid. Did all that and the new hose is great no leaks , however now my power steering sounds like I need fluid when turning the wheel but the fluid level is great. Did I screw something up ? I even Re-bled the system again and the fluid is nice and clear. The pump did not make any noises prior to this . ????????????
Thanks for your help .

check the front u joints in the axle, sounds like the needle bearings went dry and may need to be replaced
on the durango you have an air pocket, best way to rid this start car, turn wheel all way left, shut it off wait 5 minute. start car again, turn wheel all way right, shut car off wait 5 minutes. then restart car turn lock to lock a few time running, add fluid as needed.
