Ok I know this thread is kinda random but I was wondering if anyone with wiring and circuit experience could help me out on this one. I was reading in the DIY section about the cab light install. I am really thinking about doing this. But I am wanting to use the new LED style lights from the newer rams. What I'm asking is if I wire it just like in the DIY to the switch will there be as much of a load on the switch as the regular lights? I know that the LED's use less power and have a lesser load. But should I still get a relay and figure out how to wire it all up? If anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it.

Leds barely draw any power. Do you know the wattage on the bulbs? I would think they would only be 1-3 watts. Then again, the factory switches overload easily. I would run a relay anyway.

Always use a relay. Call it insurance as a new headlight switch is about $100.00 if you buy new for those 98 and up rams. LEDs can be finicky too so a resistor might be in your future as well...

Good ideas I'll probly try to find a way to wire a relay and some resistors in. I am not inclined in the circuit area so any ideas on how to wire the relay and the lights to the headlight switch??
