Default Tranmission help!!

ok i have a 96 dodge cummins i changed the trans fluid and now it leaks from either the front pump or the input shaft seal and it also goes up to about 1800rpms or so befor fully engaeing. now keep in mind it does start to engage but not fully it seem like till theres enough pressure built up. so what could that be? front pump possably? any tips help and advise would and will be greatly appreiciated

i don't know about the leak, but did you use transmission fluid for dodge - ATF+4 ?

i used mercon 5 a thicker heavy duty fluid

i think you need to flush all that completely out, drop pan and change filter again and refill with dodge atf+4.
that's available at most walmarts in their house brand, or local parts store in valvoline brand.

there's just no way any dealer would recommend it. if they did, i'd make them buy it back...

lol well thats good to know now those a$$holes yeah they said since i pull a big sled trailor thats the way to go! i hope it didnt blow trans if it did they will buy a new one!!! but could that cause the probs im haveing?

Make sure you flush ALL of that out...IMO id drain, change filter, and then change it again in 500 miles to be safe.
