2001 2500 wont start most morings

10mpg with a 5.9l gas? thats bad? i know overall its bad but for the motor?

You sir have moisture in your gas. I have this same issue now. Since winter started it's been doing this. Everything's been checked and rechecked. Good spark and the whole nine yards.

Well if I had moisture in my fuel system how would warming up the dist cap let it start? More then likely cheap wires as I heard a little ticking sound once it was started and stopped about 10 mins later after the engine had warmed.
Time to upgrade to 9mm wires and a better cap.

If you have to much moisture in the gas, if won't get a good spark to fire. I have this same issue going on. Once it get's warm out it starts. Or letting it sit for a bit it starts. I've been through all the tests and checked everything. You could also have moisture build up elsewhere.
