Default dash conversion

Has anybody done a dash conversion? taking the 98-01 and swaping in the 94-97 dash. I seached for dash conversion and dash swap and couldn't find anything. I didn't know if it could be done or if somebody has already done that. I like the look of the 94-97 dash style. I know i would have a change alot of things but i didn't know if it could be done. Thanks

Wouldn't the passenger airbag in 98-01 make this a no-go? 94-97's don't have passenger airbags.

Lots of things are different fog light switch is integrated into light switch and OD switches is integrated into shift lever arm. On 94-97 mounted in dash.
To much electrical rerouting involved.

wouldnt it be easier to do a cab swap? to my knowledge all you would need to do is to find and match the wires from the harness that has all the main controls that comes from (fuse box) under the hood to the harness in the cab. then wala, new interior. oh yeah and put your vin onto the new dash! just saying as long as you have the wiring diagrams for both model years it does not seem that difficult.

As far as the fog light/overdrive buttons, just keep them on the stalks and just use the dash bezel from a stick shift, it just has a cubby hole there.

I like the 94-97 cluster better. I'd be happy with just that part of it.
