Default weird noise now?

Ok, changed my passenger side Ujoint and replaced broken off shock yesterday. had to cut the old ujoint out but everything else went great. I did forget to put the 2 pieces of brake shield back in, but was in a rush to go pick up my kid. anyway, the vibration is gone when driving but i noticed at really low speed, i hear creaking when i turn my wheel. i sprayed some white lithium grease on the shock rubbers and am hoping that will make it go away, but i just wanted to check with the pro's on here and see what they are thinking. thanks guys

Blake

How easy did the cups press into the u-joint?
I would say possibly a needle fell out of place or got crushed when pressing the cups back into place.
Did the snap rings line up?

the cups went in without any problems. i made sure i kept pressure on the ujoint when pressing the cups in too. Im pretty sure that the needles are all fine. I think I can also hear it when i go over bumps too. I torqued the bottome shock bolt to 100ft/lbs. was that enough??? or do you think maybe that could be what the noise is???

ok, think i narrowed it down to the bottom bolt that holds the caliper on. it is definately tight, but the caliper has moderate play in it. why would this be?

i don't know any pro's... a loose bottom shock bolt will thump and rattle, but not creak. creak sounds like either the rubber shock bushing, or the sway bar bushings, or maybe the control arm bushings or track bar. i'd grease the **** out of all of them and see if that helps. if not, jack it up and turn the wheels and see if you can pin it down. there's a nasty squeak point in the auto trans linkage under the drivers feet, where the up/down rod transitions to front/rear. there's some nylon bushings on that shaft. but its more of a squeak squeak than a creak. worth checking.
