differential painting (pics now)
Rear Diff: Had a much more textured surface than the frond diff cover. SO i did not want to overdo it. just a subtle coating.

Front Diff: Smoother surface, so it glazed well.

Paint used: Rust Oleum Engine paint Color: CHRYSLER RED

I used 50% Valvoline Dura Blend and 50% lucas oil additive for the diffs. I did not even think I would notice anything, but it is a bit smoother and the bite is not as hard on the rear when taking off. Gears are good...still sharp, nearly sliced my finger.

Those are good ideas. I probably would not paint the springs and calipers red. Maybe black, or just use the undercoating spray. I just know that those areas would peel and chip then it would look bad after a while. I don't know much about prep work.
The simple green engine degreaser (blue spray bottle) worked great for getting every last bit of oil off. And that gear oil ussually leaves a very waxy film.
I used a hairdryer to cure it faster. Not sure if that was a bad idea or not. I just needed to get it dry enough to handle.
I will probably touch up the bolts later today. Kinda looks half assed. Or maybe i should have gotten new bolts.
