Replaced plenium gasket-now new problem
Replaced intake gaskets on 1995 1500.5.2 magnum engine,255,000 miles. Before idled fine,no check engine light on.Was leaking oil into intake. Now afterwards check engine light stays on.Has codes 12,22,37,and 55.When you start it it will not start when it is cold until you have tried 4 or 5 times. When it starts it will not idle,it will idle up as it always did, then die out unless you rev it up.When put in gear it will die unless you keep it revved up.Once you dive a little ways it will idle, runs perfect.Until it is cut off. Then it starts all over agian. The code 12 is battery disconnected.22 is temp sensor out of range.Have replaced it.37 is tranny temp sensor, where is it located?55 is the end of the codes.Any ideas as to what I have done? Thanks
Don't worry about 12 or 37 and obviously 55. I have those codes the last 17K miles and 3.5 years I have owned my truck. If you replaced the temp sensor and reset the computer and the code is still coming back then something is not working. What sensor did you replace the 2 wire one or the 1 wire?
Your symptoms sound like and Idle Air Control. I am suprised it is not throwing a code for that though.

Replace Idle air control yesterday.Got a little better. It isnt dying as much.I changed the one wire temp sensor near the thermostat housing. The temp guage is reading high, arond 210 or so.But it has done that for whole time I've owned the truck. Is there another temp sensor? Before I changed the plenum gasket the check engine would only come on very seldom. Now it is on constantly as it is running. And no code was for idle air control.Still has 12,22,37,55.Mine is two wheel drive.Could the engine temp sensor cause the tranny temp to read wrong?
There should be another temp sensor on the other side of the thermostat housing. My 1994 has the sensor and I would assume yours does also as there were no major mechnaical changes between 94-95. It is a 2-wire sensor and this one is the one that the computer reads. The 2-wire sensor is difficult to get at. The one you replaced is for the gauge on the dash. 210 sounds about right for a stock thermostat. That is where mine always used to sit. I would replace the two wire sensor as without a proper temp reading the computer will be lost on how to run the engine.
