Replaced the block heater with a brass freeze plug. No leaking. Thanks a lot for all the replies!

Started gathering parts for the check ball delete, but cant come up with one adapter and im $50 into it. Pissed me off. Im just going to take the old hose to a shop and have them build me a hose without the check ball. They told me it would be around $50 and its not a pieced together part...

You know you could just double clamp a piece of transmission line onto the metal lines and the fitting on the radiator.

Have you had any problems doing it that way? I wouldnt think it would hold without the hose barb... Learn something new everyday

That is how mine is connected and it works fine. Just use two hose clamps on each end and get them tight.
How much pressure are those lines subjected to anyway?

Im not sure how much pressure...but I know in one of the write ups, the guy said to make sure the tranny line is rated to AT LEAST 150 psi. The tranny line also has steel mesh in it I believe to keep it from bursting.

there's not a lot of pressure, but there is a lot of heat. the transmission hose has fiber weave embedded, same as fuel line hose. no steel mesh that i've seen.

of my 4 non-barbed hose connections, the 3 with double clamps have never moved. i did have one pop off that only had a single clamp on it and it was a crappy clamp that didn't fit right. it was my own dumb fault.
