ok like i stated my a/c just quit today....what i mean by quit is the compressor quit kicking on....all fuses are good(dont know about the relay) r134a is at good pressure according to a gauge i bought awhile back.......

i tried making the compressor turn on by taking a peice of wire and running it through the plug thats on the compressor(i know that works on a s10, but not sure about a dodge but i tried it) im out of ideas and dont wanna fork over the money to the shop any help would be wonderful thanks....

 

are you getting voltage at the compressor?

 

will check when i get to school tomorrow our meter is on the rocks atm but good idea because i havent checked it

 

stupid question but does it cycle when you turn the heat on defroster ?

 

believe it or not i have tried that and it did not do a dang thing

 

i would start by checking for voltage then and go from there. if your getting voltage there then i would say its time to replace the compressor

The switch on top of the accumulator is the one you want to jump. Only try it for a couple seconds if it turns the compressor on.

 

If it's not cycling on and off and you have voltage to the clutch, then it could be the clutch. On some vehicles you can replace the clutch without removing the compressor.

 

well she started working when i would first crank the truck about every 4 hours i decided to replace the relay first then the clutch nvr got a chance to check voltage but i will if the relay dont fix it
