Default Any Custom/Aftermarket Overhead Consoles?

I have my overhead console. It's the standard one with just the lights and sunglass holder. The lights are the cheapest crap I've ever seen!

I will be upgrading!

Has anyone made any custom ones? Perhaps that hold a CB, or do other useful functions? I understand that I could install one from a different RAM with more electronics in it. If I do that, can I still get the MPG calculator on it to work with my truck?

Thanks in advance fellas

In order for the console with the computer to work in your truck you'll have to get all sensors and wiring harness from a donor truck.... I think a few here have done it so it's not impossible

I have the same console as you, and I've been thinkin about making some kind of switch panel for it. I never use the console for anything other than the lights, so I kinda thought it would be a good place to put toggle switches for the various things I need them for, rollbar lights, backup lights, etc....

can you please be more specific as to what additional sensors you are referring to? I owned an Explorer in which I installed the message console, where all of the data was tapped off of existing sensors, and one wire needed to be installed into the PCM harness to use a pin that wasn't being utilized.

Is this similar to how it's done on these?

I'm just goin by what I've read here in the past, so I'm not the best to ask, but someone will chime in and help ya out. I know there is a temp sensor either under the cowl or up front near the rad, can't remember much else other than it's a bit of a PITA but definitely doable.
