Default Torque Converters...

Well, I think I solved my dilemma. I posted a while back that my transmission was in need of a rebuild, but when I had a friend observe the rough grinding when in reverse, we think my torque converter might be the problem. When I floor it in drive, I burn out. When I floor it in reverse, my engine revs up high, but my driveshaft barely moves. But when just backing out of a parking space or something, it reverses fine, other than the occasional grind. And she still slips in high RPM in drive, but only when she wants to. So any ideas of whether its the torque converter? If so, what should I go with? Stall speed? Everything...

my torque converter is goin out right now... it locks when it wants to. when your torque convertor isnt working, your rpms will be a couple hundered higher, and when your in o/d....tap the brakes...if your rpms dont move then its probably not locked in.....thats what is happening with mine anyway. i got the code p1740 tcc o/d selenoids

mine also makes a noise in reverse
