Default Stearing

Hello! I've been a lurker for a little while now, great site! I have a 1996 dodge ram 1500. The steering seems to be loose? Not sure it that would be the correct word to use. I can turn the wheel a little ways before the tires start to turn, its like my buddies 1975 Chevy. Anyone have an idea of what this could be?

Should have searched this first. I'm going to try tightening up the steering box.

haha ya, it's a common thing on these trucks.... we allll know what its like lol

there's also other things that will help it, check the steering shaft under the hood, it's got a small ujoint in it that goes bad, www.rocksolidramtrucksteering.com makes a replacement bushing kit that helps alot, some guys here have it.... just a couple things off the top of my head... good luck with it
